Pregnant & Nursing Mothers

Reproduction is the most critical stress encountered in the life of your dog. When your dog is pregnant or nursing, she will need increased aounts of protein and fat for energy.

Developing puppies inside the womb will have first priority on the nutrients from their mother. If the mother lacks proper nutrition her own body tissues will be robbed. after birth, the nourishment of the mother will affect her young.

The lactating dog will require 3 times more nutrients and energy at the peak of nursing than is required for maintenance.
